Literacy Services of Wisconsin's High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) program can help you reach your goals.
Our state-approved HSED program provides a supportive learning environment where you will build academic, workplace, and life skills while working toward your diploma. Instead of relying on standardized tests, students demonstrate what they have learned through classroom projects, presentations, writing assignments, and exams required by the State of Wisconsin.
What You'll Learn
The HSED program focuses on four core areas: English Language Arts, Math, Civics/Social Studies, and Health/Science.
More Than a Diploma
Our HSED program is designed to prepare students for success in college, career training, and the workplace. In addition to academic skills, students develop communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional skills that can be used in everyday life.
Many graduates tell us that they leave the program with more than a diploma. They gain confidence, practical skills, new opportunities, and a renewed sense of purpose as they move toward their educational and career goals.
Requirements
- At least 18.5 years of age
- The class you entered 9th grade with has graduated
- Proof of Wisconsin residency
- Not currently enrolled in a public high school
- Strong computer skills: internet browsing, basic typing, creating documents, responding via email, and using other online apps as needed
- Qualifying scores on TABE test—must attend an in-person enrollment appointment
