Milwaukee PBS, Boswell Book Company, Literacy Services of Wisconsin, and Milwaukee Public Library are inspiring reading throughout the community with fun events in conjunction with PBS’s The Great American Read programming.

Take a chance at falling in love… with a book!

Join us this September for Blind Date With a Book events at The Milwaukee Public Market. Get a free, gently-used book, compliments of Literacy Services of Wisconsin’s donors. Choose from a selection of mysteriously wrapped books with vague descriptions on them.

Enjoy your lunch or dinner while getting to know your new novel a little better. You may stumble on a genre you never thought you’d like or an author you never heard of before. You might even end up paired with one of the 100 novels selected for PBS's The Great American Read. Afterwards, let us know how your date went on social media with #MKEBlindDateBook.

Books distributed through Blind Date With a Book events were donated and have not been reviewed for content. Books intended for blind dates may contain language that is only suitable for adult audiences. A selection of books suitable for children and young adults will be available for random selection. Limit one per person, per day while supplies last.
