GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (GED®) PREPARATION

A high school credential opens doors and creates possibilities. Obtaining a GED® gives you access to college, a better job, and a better future. Our goal is to give motivated adults the tools to achieve these goals.

In our General Education Development (GED®) Program, students work one-on-one with a dedicated tutor to ensure a quality education. Under the current test requirements, students study extensively in four testing areas: language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

Our classroom is outfitted with brand new computers and trained tutors ready to help students succeed.

How long does it take? Our individualized program focuses on the needs of each unique student and the duration of the preparation is dependent on the availability, starting level, attendance and motivation of the students.

Meet Jessica

2017 STUDENT OF INSPIRATION - GED

Jessica enrolled in LSW’s GED program after an unsatisfactory experience in another one. With her determination, LSW’s one-on-one delivery model, and the support from her tutors, Jessica persisted in her studies despite hardships and the many demands of motherhood and family. Her hard work paid off when she completed her GED in January 2017. Since then, she has begun taking preliminary course work to become an AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Addictions) counselor. Her success at LSW has helped her progress toward realizing her lifelong goal of working to help people who are in crisis.
